“Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.  In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”   1 Timothy 6:18, 19

The Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation was established in August 2010, just a few weeks after Andrew went to live in Heaven with his personal Savior, Jesus Christ.  We seek the Lord’s guidance and will before we plan for or engage in any activities or events.  Our goal is to join Him in the places He is already at work.  The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors and we are always open to new ideas on how we can better serve.  We welcome your input and comments.  Please click on “Board of Directors” or “How to Contact Us” if you would like to share your thoughts with any of us.

Foundation Faith Statement:

We believe in the one and true God, who is our Creator, full of love and compassion, who brings us hope and joy of the deepest kind.  He draws us to Himself by use of nature, circumstances, people, and especially His Word.  Yet, in His perfection, He holds us accountable for those things we say and do which are contrary to His plan for us, but always willingly offers forgiveness and renewal to those who humble themselves before Him.

We believe that Jesus is who He says He is, does what He says He will do, and will do what He said He will do.  This being so, He is our Leader and Forgiver, our Lord and Savior.  His death on the cross and resurrection to life gives us what we need to accept Him as such.  Faith is the tool we use to apprehend it.

We believe the Holy Spirit is alive, active and working within each believer, giving us the path to walk on, and the strength to carry on.  He bears the character of God in us, called fruit of the Spirit that we may live in such a way to be a spotlight pointing to Jesus.

We believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God, containing the very words, which He decided we needed for life and godliness.  These words train us, correct us, encourage us, admonish us, and give us hope in all circumstances.  We would do very well to study His word, meditate upon it, and obey what it says.  Success comes to us that way.

We believe every Christian has been endowed with a purpose, and the unique gifts and talents given by God to fulfill that purpose.  All people were created for the purpose of good works, which were ordained by God, and set forth to further the good things in this world.  We best demonstrate our faith by using our words to proclaim the Good News of God, and our hands and feet to demonstrate the reality of our relationship.
