Volunteer

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”  1 Corinthians 12: 4-6

We believe that all people are uniquely created with specific gifts, passions and perspectives. In order to effectively run the Foundation’s events and programs, we need a vast array of skills and we are always looking for people who will step forward to share their talents with us. Over the years we have enlisted the help of artists, seamstresses, bankers, attorneys, teachers, singers, landscapers, construction workers, craftsmen, etc. You have a gift we can use!

The core element that allows our events to run so smoothly and successfully is our volunteers. We are always looking for high school and adult volunteers to help at various events.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Christine McCool, our Adult Volunteer Coordinator, at GetInvolved@ALHjr.org. See below for clearances needed to volunteer.

Graduation Projects

We are always interested in working with any students who would like to lead a Foundation event as their graduation project.

If interested, please contact Karen Hicks at Karen@ALHjr.org to discuss available leadership projects or your ideas for a new event.

All volunteers who are 18 years old or older are required to submit a Criminal Background Check as well as a PA Child Abuse Clearance.  In addition, his or her name will be run through the Megan’s Law National Sexual Offenders Database.

To obtain a Criminal Background Check, please CLICK HERE.

To obtain a Child Abuse Clearance, please CLICK HERE to create an individual account and apply for this clearance electronically.

Thanks to a recent change in the laws, both the Criminal Background Check and the Child Abuse Clearance are free. The results from both clearances can be printed immediately. Please keep the original for yourself and turn in a copy with your SSN blacked out.

All Henderson High School Warrior Guides should turn the reports into Ms. Jamie Bainbridge at HHS. Any other volunteer can mail their clearances in to Niki Goodson, Program Director, Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation, PO Box 177, Downingtown, PA  19335.

If you have any questions regarding Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services requirements for volunteers, please read their Frequently Asked Questions.
