Despite the rain yesterday, and the forecast, the Geocaching event for today is still on. Accuweather is predicting a very cloudy day with a small chance of showers until 5pm. We may get some rain at 5pm, but there is a large area at the camp that is under cover and will work for us if we need to do our team building under a roof. There is also a dining hall so we can eat inside if we have to. Please dress appropriately and wear sneakers.

The Chester children should be at the Chester Boys and Girls Club at 12:45pm and the West Chester kids should be at Paradise Farm Camps by 1:45pm.

Hicks’ 3-Way Relay is set to go on Saturday, June 1st at 1pm. Participates have the choice to do the 5 Mile Run, a 1.6 Mile Walk, or they can join with two others and each run 1.6 miles in an exciting Relay. We will also have a Landmark Benefit Day on Wednesday, May 29th from 11am until 10pm. 25% of your bill will benefit the Foundation. All proceeds from both the Relay and the Benefit Day will go directly to Camp Paradise 2013. For more information about the race, or to register on-line right away, please click here.

Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Memorial Golf Outing Registration Open

The 2nd Annual Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Memorial Golf Outing will take place on Tuesday, June 4th at Penn Oaks Golf Club. Everyone is welcome to participate. There have been some really great improvements made to this year’s outing including a buffet lunch to all participants and a really delicious, top-flight dinner to all golfers! While still in California, immediately following Andrew’s fall, his family decided to establish the Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation in order to continue to support two of Andrew’s passions: Henderson Boys Soccer and Henderson Ice Hockey, and more importantly, to greatly further the work he had begun with the underprivileged youth of Chester, PA.

One of Andrew’s short term goals was to humbly affect the life of just one of his Henderson High School classmates for Christ before graduating in June of 2011. It is the hope of this Foundation that Andrew’s goal of affecting ONE would be expanded and enlarged to envelop the whole area of West Chester and Chester, sharing the hope of Christ with an ENTIRE COMMUNITY.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 4: 23-24
